APW - Hamilton, Grade 936, low serial #862, 17J, 18S, gold-filled OF recase, white enamel DS dial with Independent Order of Odd Fellows associated overpainting added to its surface, SW-LS, nickel damascene, s#862. A good looking three-digit serial movement, this watch is listed in the Hamilton factory ledger as having been sold June 28th, 1894 to S. Eastman & Co. of Providence, Rhode Island. From the Estate of Henry Betjemann of Bradenton, Florida.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous surfaces, small ding near upper case screw position, small patch of pinpoint nicks adjacent barrel arbor, some typical scattered micro-fine scratches elsewhere, black color loss to s# marking; dial with edge chip at setting lever area, outer chapter hl at 5:30, few small scratches within seconds-register, areas of loss to Odd Fellows overpainting detail; excellent hands of mismatched color, hour is blue, minute and seconds-hand are plum colored; case shows light wear, scattered scratches and fine scratches, prominent dent at center rear, dent at lower-left perimeter of rear, prominent circular scratching and scrapes inside rear; tight bow, crown shows light wear; clean plastic crystal.
